How to Create a Quiz with a QR Code

Creating a quiz with a QR code on Faabul is easy. Follow these steps to make sharing your quiz game seamless and efficient. QR codes can be generated for both live games and individual mode links.

1. Create an Account and a Quiz

Start by signing up or logging into to your Faabul account.
Prepare your quiz. If you need more detailed instructions, see How to create a quiz.

2. Generate Your QR Code

Live Game Mode

Once your quiz is ready, press the Host & Share button.
You have two options:

Present Now: Start the live quiz game immediately with a random code.
Schedule Game: Choose your own join code and schedule the game within the next 180 days (available with Faabul's paid plans).

Press Continue to generate your QR code and text code automatically.
If you are on a paid plan, you can also use your own code for the game.

Individual Mode

Press the Host & Share button just like in live mode.
Select 'Individual mode' to allow participants to complete the quiz at their own pace.
Press Configure to adjust settings like showing correct answers or collecting participant information.
The QR code for your individual mode link will be available in the share dialog.
You can share the link or QR code via email, social media, or print materials.

3. Show and Save Your QR Code

Live Game QR Code

If you schedule a game ahead, you can save the QR code associated with the game and use it, for example, in your handouts.

Open My Live Games, then select the game you want.
To save the QR code as an image, open the game detail and click the Show button in the QR code section. You can then download the code.
If you want to use a custom game code, change the code first, then download the QR code image.

Individual Mode QR Code

You can download and save the QR code for your individual mode link from the share dialog.

Click the Share button in individual mode to open the share dialog.
Download the QR code image by clicking on the download button next to the QR code.
The individual mode link and QR code remain valid until you delete the quiz or change sharing settings.

4. Invite People to Join Your Game

Live Game Invitation

When you open a live game, the QR code is automatically shown on the game poster screen until the game starts. Players can use their phones to scan it. After the game starts, you can always show the QR code again from the host menu.
People can also join your quiz game by entering the text code at faabul.com.
You can also share a link to your game both from the game details page and the game itself.

Individual Mode Invitation

Share the individual mode link directly with your participants via email, messenger, or social media.
Participants can scan the QR code with their mobile devices to access the quiz immediately.
You can track participation and results through the quiz reports section.
